Moolman Group, in partnership with Twin City Development and JB Holdings will be developing a
40 000m² shopping centre in Rustenburg, within close proximity of the very vibrant Rustenburg CBD and a mere 500m from the main taxi rank (which according to Prime Media is classified as one of the largest ranks in SA, with more than 7 000 taxis and busses frequenting the rank on a daily basis!).
Rustenburg Mall will be located on Swartruggens Road (R104) which links directly with the N4 as well as other main arterial roads to and from the different suburbs surrounding the site.
This Mall will not only serve the huge commuter market travelling to Rustenburg on a daily basis, but also the approximate 80 000 households within a 5km radius which includes Thlabane, Thalabane West, Karlien Park, Geelhout Park and Protea Park, amongst others.
A BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) terminal has already been constructed on Swartruggens Road (R104) directly opposite the site and a pedestrian walkway is planned to ensure easy, convenient and safe access for pedestrians from the rank to the shopping centre.
Whilst the Rustenburg CBD continues to deliver strong trade, the national trend of deteriorating CBD’s is very evident in this town with a continuing downward trajectory inevitable. This development will ensure a formalised shopping environment adjacent to the CBD servicing not only the commuter market but also the surrounding households in a safe, secure, enclosed and air-conditioned environment.
Rustenburg Mall will be occupied by nationals as well as strong anchor tenants, i.e. Shoprite and Checkers, catering for all income groups (i.e. low to high LSM).
