HEAD OF FINANCE

Reporting to: CEO (Pieter Lombaard)

We are seeking a skilled Financial Manager to oversee the finances of multiple companies within the Moolman Group. This role involves managing compliance, reporting, funding, taxation, audits, cash flow, and a high-performing team, while providing financial insights to support property development and strategic decisions.

01. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the financial management of multiple companies within the Moolman Group portfolio, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 1 Assistant Financial Manager, 4 Accountants and 4 Bookkeepers, fostering professional development and ensuring optimal team performance.
  • Monitor cash flows, develop financial strategies, and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for example board packs.
  • Oversee taxation and other statutory requirements. Review income tax and VAT calculations and submissions. Assistance and administrative tasks on e-filing.
  • Oversee and review dividend calculations.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures across all entities.
  • Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, ensuring audit readiness and compliance. Review of audit files and internally prepare AFS on Caseware.
  • Support property development and leasing projects by providing financial insights, cashflow planning, and cost analysis.
  • Utilize MDA Property Management Software to manage financial data and streamline operations.
  • Prior knowledge of MDA is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Review, analyse, and present financial statements and forecasts for decision-making purposes.
  • Liasson with banks and other financial institutions regarding external debt and other banking services, including but not limited to managing drawdowns on development loans and the disbursement conditions related thereto.
  • Review of finance agreements before signature and implementation.
  • Review and release of payments on internet banking platforms.

2. QUANTUM

  • Approximately 50 private companies with provisional and income tax, audits and AFS (including some complex consolidations).
  • Approximately 35 consortiums with monthly reporting and bi-weekly cash distributions.
  • Approximately 120 fixed properties with asset value in excess of R27bn.
  • Approximately 80 active VAT registrations.
  • 4 foreign entities and 2 DTMC’s.

STAFF MANAGEMENT

  • 9 (1 Assistant Financial Manager, 4 Accountants, 4 Bookkeepers)

4. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Chartered Accountants CA(SA)

5. EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 10 years experience post articles including management experience.
