Buffelspruit Matsamo Mall & Matsamo Plaza

The redevelopment and expansion of Matsamo Plaza was successfully completed in 2022 to accommodate the growing retail demand of the Buffelspruit community and surrounding areas. The project included the development of Matsamo Mall, comprising 10,826 m² of gross lettable area (GLA), alongside the existing Matsamo Plaza, which comprises 8,087 m² of GLA. Together, the two centres have strengthened their position as the primary retail destination serving the local community.

The development significantly enhanced the retail offering within the Schoemansdal District and created a convenient shopping destination for customers from neighbouring Eswatini and Mozambique. The mall attracted leading national anchor tenants, including Shoprite, Roots, Clicks, Cashbuild, and Boxer, providing residents with access to a diverse range of retail, health, hardware, and grocery services.

The interior art installations were thoughtfully incorporated to celebrate the area’s rich cultural heritage, recognising the traditions, identity, and aspirations of the local community.
