As we enter the second half of 2022, everyone at Moolman Group is encouraged by the progress made on current and upcoming projects. Many of these are years in the making and under trying circumstances. Everyone involved can be immensely proud

Moolman Group’s new development, Merino Mall is steadily rising under the Mpumalanga sky. Years of careful planning is finally coming to fruition as the beautiful Merino Mall is nearing completion. We are proud to confirm that we are 98% let with three months to go before opening and excited to welcome an array of new National Tenants to Ermelo. This fully enclosed Shopping Centre will serve a combined market consisting of the local population as well as hundreds of commuters traveling to and through Ermelo from surrounding rural and small towns in the region.

Hebron Mall is fast progressing towards opening. The lead developers, Twin City, and associated contractors have been relentless in driving this project to fruition. Perfectly positioned, the community of Hebron is ready to welcome this long-awaited retail, social and economic injection. The development has excellent accessibility, multiple residential developments in the vicinity and a strong catchment demographic.

The redevelopment and expansion of the current Matsamo Plaza in Buffelspruit [Schoemansdal, Mpumalanga] is forging ahead and will relaunch as Matsamo Mall on 26 October 2022. This development will strengthen the already vibrant node and cater for growing demand. Matsamo Mall will offer the communities of Buffelspruit, Schoemansdal (Matsamo) and Jeppes Reef a convenient shopping experience with an exciting array of well known national retailers including Shoprite, Shoprite Liquor, Mr Price, Pep Home, Totalsports, Markham, Sportscene, Studio 88, Legit, Exact and banks FNB and Capitec (to name a few).

Barlow Park is set to become Sandton’s brand-new residential neighbourhood, providing much-sought-after affordable, top-quality housing right on the doorstep of South Africa’s commercial capital, Sandton Central. Bulk earthworks for the first phase of the R3 billion project commenced in June 2022 and will transform this landmark site from the corporate park that previously housed Barloworld Limited’s Corporate office, Logistics and Equipment head offices into a vibrant modern residential-anchored mixed-use neighbourhood.

The redevelopment and renovation of Edenvale’s Meadowdale Value Centre [acquired in the last quarter of 2021] is nearing completion, and the transformation is evident. New retailers include a unique mix of destination and value stores such as Frontline Hyper, Costa Coffee, The General Store, Pet Zone, Javelin Workwear opening during the last quarter of 2022 and Burger King in 2023. Renovated stores include the popular Schwaben butchery, Hyper Fabric, Minute-Man and Gelmar.

Moolman Group recently acquired the Polokwane Checkers Centre which is superbly located in the block between Grobler, Biccard, Hans van Rensburg and Thabo Mbeki Streets, in the heart of Polokwane. Consisting of 10 000m², the Centre is anchored by Checkers and Clicks and is further complimented by favourites such as Ackermans, Pep, Old Mutual, Checkers Liquor, Shoe City, Specsavers and many more. The centre will undergo a much needed face-lift and also welcome exciting new National Tenants.

Moolman Group in partnership with Networth Group will be breaking ground in August for this new convenience Shopping Centre with an unapparelled location. The Greenery (aptly named after the old municipal nursery that use to be on this site) will have easy access, safe and secure on-grade parking, greenery and modern architecture and promises to bring shoppers an upmarket shopping experience. Shoppers can look forward to a mix of 23 well known brands, including fashion, eateries, banking and many more!

Since the successful completion of the renovation of Kuruman Mall in 2015, the mall has seen exceptional trading with a waiting list of exciting national retailers interested in taking up space here. Moolman Group has therefore identified the 3.1ha site optimally located on Cnr Tsening Rd & Bree St, on the opposite side of the prominent taxi rank, to develop a Convenient Shopping Centre of approximately 10 000m², called Segonyana Mall (aptly named after the Segonyana Municipality). Segonyana Mall will have easy access, on-grade parking and substantial security offering retailers currently trading in the CBD, the opportunity to give shoppers a more relaxed shopping experience.
