The Moolman Group has partnered with the current owners of the existing Northridge Mall, the PHG Group.
Together, the developers are spending in excess of R300 million on the complete renovation and expansion of the mall. As an additional anchor tenant, a large Woolworths Food and Textile store (4 500 m² which will also include a Woolworths Cafè) will be built. A revamped Pick n Pay, newly revamped Dis-Chem, an array of additional new national retail shops and restaurants, as well as the inclusion of some of the most popular local retailers will ensure that residents are treated to a first-class shopping and dining experience. The renovation also includes the construction of a further 6 000 m² of GLA and 600 new parking bays.
The land north of Northridge Mall is experiencing high growth in residential activity of middle to higher income groups, with a number of new estates, as well as proposed estates for development – Wild Olive and Lilyvale being only two examples of many. This growth in turn will bring a solution to the undersupply of retail offerings within Bloemfontein’s northern suburbs, which will become even more apparent as growth in the node continues.
Final completion and the grand opening of the redeveloped Northridge Mall is set for April 2019.
